This is the book that started Red Racer Books, so getting to update it has been a pretty special project for me and thanks to everyone who has helped!
A lot has changed in Formula 1 since I first wrote the book. The cars have changed, the sport has grown like crazy, and there are so many more families watching races together now.
So it felt like the right time to give the book an update too.
The new edition still has everything I loved about the original: 26 racing concepts from A to Z, lots of things for kids to discover, and Wei Ren’s illustrations, which have become such a big part of Red Racer's ABCs Book Series.
But we’ve also refreshed the book with new concepts, updated terms, new illustrations featuring new cars and teams. I think you are going to LOVE it! Here are a few sneak peeks:

Since I'm launching the book just ahead of the U.S. Grand Prix, I’ll be spending a full week in Austin spreading the word!
Austin has always been an important city for Red Racer Books. I went to my first Grand Prix at COTA in 2021 when this whole thing was still basically an idea, and the experience helped push me to actually make the first book.
This October, I’ll be back with the new edition, meeting racing families, visiting bookstores and doing at least one special kids’ storytime in Austin at BOOK PEOPLE on October 20th at 10:30A (deets to come)
I’ll share all the details soon, so stay tuned if you’re going to be in town for race week.
